Shades of Mario?

Shades of Mario?

After watching game one of the Flyers – Penguins series, I can only come away with one thing to talk about. I know what your thinking, we just won a big game against our most hated rival and there was plenty of action to discuss like Sidney Crosby’s wicked deflection goal or Brooks Orpik’s bone crushing hit on Scotty Upshaw or Marc Andre Fleury’s brilliant glove and stick saves.

These are worthy storylines, but not even in the same ball park as what we saw from Evgeni Malkin. Malkin did what truly great players do. They take over a game and put it away. He made big hits and he dove for loose pucks. He scored two huge goals. His “power” slap shot breakaway was reminiscent of a Michael Jordan slam dunk. He truly is playing better than any other hockey player in the National Hockey League. However, I think that it goes even deeper than that.

At one point during the second period, the Pen’s were killing a penalty. Towards the end of said penalty, the Flyers took a penalty of their own. Evgeni Malkin came on to the ice to finish up a four-on-four and get ready to start a power play. During this brief period of time, I saw something that I have not seen since sixty-six wore the flightless bird on his chest. The Flyers let Malkin hold the puck for an eternity, which enabled the Penguins to bring on the power play unit. It was almost as if the Flyers were afraid to go after Malkin. Mario Lemiux was so good that he could slow down the game. Malkin did the same thing tonight.

It was an amazing performance.

Geno is just a freak, plain and simple.
How the hell did he manage to do that?

All you need to know about this series is that
MARTY FVKING BIRON is trying to stop Geno.

Good luck Marty.

It was truly a great perfromance by a great palyer. I really though Sid would dominate this series, but Geon is just so go that he even overshadows Sid.
